Simple Swaps for a Greener Future!

Calling all eco-warriors!

World Environment Day (June 5th) is our annual reminder to show some love to our planet. This year’s theme, #GenerationRestoration, tackles deforestation and land restoration. Great Big Green Week (June 8th-16th) also unites the UK in climate action, and we’re here to help you join the fight. But fear not, capes aren’t required!

We’ve got a super-handy list below of easy swaps to reduce your plastic waste and footprint – let’s make a difference together.

Forget store-bought ice in plastic! Head over to Asda and pick up some silicone ice moulds. Not only do they come in fun shapes, but they’re also reusable, reducing plastic waste. Plus, they make your drinks more fun!

Switch from aerosol deodorants to natural, refillable options. Not only will you cut down on plastic waste, but you’ll also reduce the chemicals you’re putting on your skin. Check out the range of eco-friendly deodorants at Superdrug. We love the Wild collection!

Make a healthier home and planet by opting for natural and less harmful cleaning products. M&S offers a fantastic own-brand collection of eco-friendly cleaning supplies. There are even some refillable ranges too!

Reduce packaging waste by choosing perfumes with refillable options. The Perfume Shop at Parc Trostre has a great selection of fragrances that you can refill, saving you money and helping the environment

Cut down on energy usage by switching to an outdoor airer. Lakeland offers sturdy and efficient outdoor airers that will make drying your clothes in the fresh air a breeze, saving energy and money off your electric bill.

Say goodbye to single-use plastic bottles and keep your water cooler for longer with insulated tumblers from B&M. These reusable bottles are perfect for staying hydrated on the go without that pesky plastic waste.

Next time you grab a coffee from Costa… bring a refillable mug! If you don’t have one yet they have a cute selection in-store. Using a reusable cup reduces waste and often gets you a discount on your drink!

Together, we can make a difference in protecting our planet for future generations. Be sure to share your eco-friendly tips and swaps on social media using the hashtag #GreatBigGreenWeek.
